WEEKEND GATHERING
We cordially invite you to a weekend meeting featuring the Al-Anon Twelve-Step Program.
Al-Anon is a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who seek to solve their common problem by sharing their experiences and insights about themselves and life with an alcoholic.
You can find registration information at www.al-anon.cz
Each of our lives has been ruined by another personโs drinking. We cannot change this fact. The disease of alcoholism has deeply affected us. Its consequences continue to permeate our lives. Nor can we change the behavior or attitudes of the people around us. And we cannot stop the drinking either. We are powerless over alcohol. As long as we cling to the delusion that we can control or cure alcoholism, its symptoms, or its consequences, we are fighting a battle we cannot win. Our self-esteem suffers, our relationships suffer, and our ability to enjoy life suffers as well. We waste all our energy in a hopeless effort until we have none left to take care of our own needs. Our lives have become unmanageable.
Al-Anon Preamble:
Al-Anon family groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope with one another to address their common problems. We believe that alcoholism is a disease that affects the entire family and that a change in attitude can help in recovery. Al-Anon is not affiliated with any sect, church, political group, or any other organization or institution. It does not engage in any disputes, nor does it support or oppose any external issues. It has no mandatory dues; its operations are funded solely by voluntary contributions from its members. Al-Anon has a single purpose: to help the families of alcoholics. We fulfill this purpose by applying the Twelve Steps, offering acceptance and comfort to the families of alcoholics, and expressing encouragement and understanding to alcoholics.
A Father's Heart
The "Father's Heart" seminar focuses on experiencing God's fatherly love, acceptance, and forgiveness; and becoming rooted in our identity as God's sons and daughters.
